Each Bali Necklace helps to fund Coral Reef Conservation! Learn about our efforts!
Our Abalone Hei Matau necklace is a hand-carved representation of the traditional Hei Matau design made by the Māori. It represents Strength and Safe Passage over water. The fish hook shape finds its origins in Māori legend, that the North Island of New Zealand was once a huge fish that was caught by the great mariner Maui, using only a woven line and a hook made from the jawbone of his grandmother.
Each Bali Necklace is hand carved on the Tropical Island of Bali and shipped from the USA. Because we use 100% natural materials, there may be some slight imperfections in each piece.
